Where is the Retreat Center

The Joshua Tree Retreat Center is a 400-acre facility in the Mojave desert of Southern California. It is only about 30 miles from Palm Springs, and the town of Joshua Tree is just down the road.

Flying into Palm Springs (PSP)

You can fly into the Palm Springs Airport (PSP), with a drive of just 37 miles to the retreat center. According to the City of Palm Springs, 11 airlines serve the airport.

Flying into San Diego (SAN) or Los Angeles (LAX)

You can fly into San Diego International Airport (SAN) or Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and then rent a car. It is about a 2-1/2 drive from either airport (under 150 miles). Ride-shares may be available from San Diego.

Driving Directions

The Retreat Center suggests the you not rely on your GPS for directions. Instead follow the directions on their website: http://www.jtrcc.org/map-to-jtrc/

The Retreat Center is about a 2 hour and 20 minute drive from Aikido of San Diego (139 miles).

Nearby Attractions

If friends or family will be coming with you, or if you want to spend a few extra days in the area, there is plenty to do and see! The Retreat Center website has excellent information on local points of interest, including Joshua Tree National Park, a desert marshland with hiking and birdwatching, the Hi-Desert Nature Museum, a railroad museum, botanical gardens, art galleries, spas, golf courses, horseback riding, and of course the city of Palm Springs, and the Palm Springs Tramway up Mount San Jacinto.
